- This years prestigious 'Sangeetha Kalanidhi' award from Music Academy goes to C Saroja and C Lalitha, popularly known as Bombay Sisters.

- T.V. Gopalakrishnan popularly known as TVG will be honoured by Nungambakkam Cultural Academy with the title 'Sangeetha Kala Siromani'.

- Music Academy's dance festival will be held from 03 Jan to 09 Jan 2011 featuring Malavika Sarukkai, Alarmel Valli, Rama Vaidyanathan, Urmila Satyanarayana and others.

- Alarmel Valli's Bharata Natyam recitals in the season include:

25 Dec 2010: Karthik Fine Arts
30 Dec 2010: Brahma Gana Sabha
08 Jan 2011: Music Academy

- Academic sessions conducted by Music Academy will be held from 16 Dec 2010 to 01 Jan 2011 at Kasturi Hall in Music Academy complex from 08.00am onwards.

- Narada Gana Sabha to honour senior Mridangam Vidwan Vellore Ramabhadran with the title ' Naadabrahmam' during their annual festival in December 2010.

- Karthik Fine Arts to honour Mridangam Vidwan J. Vaidyanathan with the title 'Isai Peroli' while veteran flautist N. Ramani gets the title 'Tamil Isai Vender'.
