Pundlik Krishna Bhagwat was born in November 1962 at Varanasi in a family of musicians. He was made to practice tabla at the age of 4, by his father, late Krishna Vinayak Bhagwat. and from Sri Lakshmikant Naik (disciple of Sri Ashutosh Bhattacharya, the famous Tabla artist) for about ten years. Later he underwent specialised training in Tabla from Pt. Ishwar Lal Misra (disciple of the great Tabla Maestro Pt. Anokhe Lal Misra) Today, he is true representative of his Guruji's style. Since his first "Stage Performance", he has given many performances with eminent artists in various festivals and concerts at different places. Pundlik Bhagwat has the speciality of traditional solo performance which he has given in many concerts. The famous amongst is "Dr. Vasant Rao Deshpande Smriti Samaroh"Nagpur. He is 'A' grade artist and giving regular performance in Aii India Radio & National Televisin. He was also featured in the Tuesday National Concert of Akashwani in 1990 and National Programme of Music in 1998. (Live programme) and also has recorded for the archives of AIR. Pundlik Bhagwat took his Bachelor degree in Commerce from Harishchandra Post Graduate Degree College, Varanasi. In addition to these qualifications, he has also gained good systematic knowledge in 'SAMVEDA' from Vidwan (late) Ganesh Bhatt Bapat and then from Sri Prabhakar Shastri Bapat. Through this specialised qualification he got an invitation from abroad and had an opportunity to visit U.S.A., Canada etc. in 1991. In addition to all he is a good Harmonium player and has given accompaniment to few Emeritus tabla artists like Pt. (late) Samta Pd. Misra, Pt. Ramji Misra etc. in their solo performances.
