Jayaprabha Menon, disciple of guru Bharathi Shivaji-the name synonymous with Mohiniyatam, is one of the most accomplished dancers of the present generation.

Endowed with a pleasing stage presence, Mohiniyatam has found in Jayaprabha a dancer dedicated and committed to its cause.

Jayaprabha brings to her audience a refreshing presentation of Mohiniyatam, owing to her long years of experience as a performer and her deep understanding of the aesthetics of the dance form.

At the age of four, she was initiated to dance by Smt .Kalamandalam Saraswathi. The tutelage continued for 15 years.

She says she is fortunate to work under Prof. Chandra Sekaran for two years from 1990.
