A commerce graduate with a course in Mass Communication behind her, Priyadarshini Govind's vocation is Bharatanatyam. After her arangetram in '74 under the auspices of the Mylapore Fine Arts Club, Madras, she has been performing in all the major festivals/centers in India. She has also travelled extensively in Europe, North America, South Africa and Asia on concert tours.

Priya is one of the most sought after Bharata Natyam dancers today. She has received many awards and honours for her outstanding performances and contribution to the field of Indian classical dance.
